Quality Government Project financed by FDA.

April 12, 2006 – Today is a very important day, as the contract for the “quality government project” was signed between Aruba and the Netherlands.

The Fondo Desaroyo Aruba (FDA) will be financing this quality enhancing project, which will be executed with the cooperation between the “Departamento di Navegacion Maritimo di Aruba” (Directorate of Shipping of Aruba) and “Inspectie Verkeer en Waterstaat van Nederland,” and is to upgrade the personnel and the functioning of the department.

A total of AWG. 720,000.00 will be issued to the quality government project.

The contract was signed by Hon. Mr. N.J.J. Swaen - Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, representing the country of Aruba for FDA projects, Mr. R. Brown - President of Board of Directors FDA, Mr. A. Yazagaray – Member of Board Directors FDA, and Hon. Mr. E. Briesen – Minister of Tourism and Transport. The Netherlands’ representative Mr. Ir. J. van Leeuwen signed on behalf of Inspectie Verkeer en Waterstaat van Nederland.

Aruba Investment Bank N.V manages the FDA funds.
