HER MAJESTY QUEEN BEATRIX OF THE NETHERLANDS WILL BE VISITING ARUBA ON NOVEMBER 6 AND 7, 2006.

November 2, 2006 - Aruba's population is preparing with great enthusiasm and anticipation for her royal visit on November 6 and 7.

Her Majesty Queen Beatrix will be welcomed at 10:00 hours at the "Reina Beatrix Aeropuerto Internacional" with military honours. Mr. Haime van der Biezen will play the National Anthem of Holland "Wilhelmus" and from Aruba, "Aruba Dushi Tera."

The girl of 8 years Miss Favienne Thode will have the honour to offer H.M. Queen Beatrix a bouquet of flowers. Miss Thode won a drawing contest depicting the Queen of the Netherlands and will offer Her Majesty one of her drawings.

The Governor of Aruba, Mr. Fredis J. Refunjol, as the official representative of Her Majesty will welcome H.M. Queen Beatrix during the reception at the airport and will introduce the committee.

H.M. Queen Beatrix will take part at different official affairs during the two-days visit.

Stores, Government buildings, and homes will be decorated with flags, depicting the Dutch flag together with the Aruban flag , showing respect and the hospitality for our beloved Queen of Holland.

The public parade and event will take place on Tuesday November 7, 2006 from 17:35 - 18:45 Hours.

The Parade will take Her Majesty through the historic streets of Oranjestad and will leave Fort Zoutman/ Willem III tower in Oranjestad at Zoutmanstraat, thru Oranjestraat, Wilhelminastraat, and to Havenstraat at Plaza Daniel Leo.

On the route the development of our capital, Oranjestad will be depicted from 1824 to 1948 in three stages.

The first one at Fort Zoutman (1928), the second one at Optica Kok (monument of Aruba) in Wilhelminastraat (1902) and the third one at the Protestant Chapel (1948).

The local youth will delight Her Majesty Queen Beatrix at Plaza Daniel Leo (behind the Renaissance Mall) with various dance presentations, focussing on the integration of the various cultural dances within our community.
