Marriott Aruba Surf Club opened with 165 rooms in July 2004. Offering two-bedroom, two-bath villas, the brand-new Marriott Aruba Surf Club will offer beachfront lodging adjacent to Marriott Aruba Ocean Club and the Aruba Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino. A typical villa includes fully equipped kitchen, living/dining area, private balcony or patio, whirlpool tub, washer and dryer, multiple TVs, VCR/DVD, linens, utensils and more. Marriott plans on opening 155 rooms for time-share beginning 2006.

 

The Aruba Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino has finalized the new ballroom and expansion of their existing casino. A total of 3100 square feet have been added to the ballroom, making it 11,700 square feet total. The casino has been expanded with 6000 square feet, making it close to 18,000 square feet. The Stellaris casino is now the largest casino on the island.

 

The Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino has finalized a $13 million dollar overhaul. The extensive renovation, which began in June 2003, encompasses all guest rooms, common areas, select restaurants and lounges, pool and deck areas, and landscaping. The renovation activities were completed floor-by-floor, and broken into two phases.  Phase 1 of the renovations was completed in November 2003, and Phase 2 was completed in January 2004.The Marina Hotel pool area now features lush landscaping surrounding a cascading pool. The refurbished deck area includes new elegant patio furniture and umbrellas. Two of the property's restaurants, L.G. Smith's Steak & Chop House and Café Brasserie, present new fare served in a completely redecorated atmosphere. The new Lobby Bar, named Blue, is located in the Marina Hotel and serves a variety of appetizers and drinks by the poolside. The poolside lounge area will be transformed into Blue as day turns to evening and will feature an elegant, upscale, open-air nightclub atmosphere.

The Marina Hotel and the Ocean Suites have 559 rooms and suites in the resort's two towers. The new rooms in the Marina Hotel feature one king or two double beds, high-speed Internet access, minibar, coffee maker, safe, iron station and step-out balcony. One-bedroom suites in the Ocean Suites feature a king bed, a living room with a queen sofa bed, large bathroom, a wet bar (minibar, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker), and a balcony or patio. All suites have high-speed Internet access.

 

The Holiday Inn Sunspree® Resort Aruba is currently renovating the Miramar and the Boardwalk Restaurants following the recent construction of a new activities center and game room, a new beachside restaurant and new entertainment deck around the pool. Wyndham Aruba Resort is currently constructing a new 10,000-foot ballroom that will be connected to the existing ballroom. The ballroom will total 20,000-foot making it the 2nd largest on the island. Opening date will be mid-December 2004.

 

Oceania Beach and Resort is the new resort condominium being built close to the Le Dome Restaurant in front of the Eagle Beach. Oceania is contemporarily designed with an ocean view and will include a tennis court, a fully equipped gym as well as space for restaurants and other businesses. The prices vary from $300,000 to $650,000 and the project is projected to be finished in 2007.
