Access Art Gallery and Fundacion Pro Crea invites you this Thursday and Friday night to a Film presentation of the Aruban Shamira Raphaëla with her debut documentary called “Cu salo den mi wowo”
Aruban native Shamira Raphaëla debuts with her first documentary created for her thesis at the Art Academy AKI in Enschede, entitled “Cu salo den mi wowo”, with salt in my eyes. This movie is a critical point of view of a very social subject; the daily lives of three Aruban teenage girls who deal with different living conditions. Shamira follows these girls for a period of time to shed light on the different factors which have led these girls into their current situation.
“Cu salo den mi wowo”, a constant tropical sea breeze covers your skin in a layer of salt. The salt is a symbol of the tears these girls have cried in their lives, and will cry in the future. Goal of this documentary is to educate and inform the audience to reflect about the situation these teenage girls find themselves in.
Come and experience the lives of these young women
