October 2006: It was with
great expectation that Aruba looked forward to welcome the Blue Moon of
Pullmantur Cruises to start her home porting, right here in Aruba.
The luxury ship arrived in
Aruba on Thursday evening around six pm.
A Bonbini – welcome ceremony was held on Friday Ocotber 27 and it was visible that all the invitees were very impressed with Blue Moon.
The exchange of plaques took place between the Captain and representatives of Aruba Cruise Tourism, Aruba Ports Authority and the ship agent, S.E.L. Maduro & Sons in the presence of various directors and representatives of ACT, APA NV, Ship Agent, Customs, Immigration Department, Tiara Air, De Palm Tours, and the AAA NV.
Following the plaque
ceremony, all took a comprehensive tour.
Blue Moon will be home
porting in Aruba every Saturday and her itinerary will be Oranjestad,
Willemstad, Isla de Margarita, St. Vincent, Barbados, Mayreau, at Sea and back
to Aruba.
Her main focus will be the
Spanish speaking markets.
Guests out of Spain will
be flown over eastbound and westbound in her own Boeing of Pullmantur Cruises
on Saturdays.
All taking the cruise will have the opportunity to explore and experience Aruba on her own pace and interest.
The Aruba Cruise Tourism
Director Mrs. Kathleen Rojer and PR Manager, Mr. Samuel Curie received months
ago a visit from Mr. Xavier Bennasar – Port Director for Pullmantur Cruises,
who also visited the Aruba Ports Authority, ship agents, tour operators and the
airport authority as well as the ground handler, consequently an invitation
went out on ACT’s request to Mrs. Giorgia Cappabianca – international sales
Manager via sister company ATA to attend the Aruba Meets Europe conference in
Aruba.
The initiative was
formalized during the SEATRADE convention in Miami, between the Hon. Ing. E.
Briesen, Minister of Tourism and Transport and Pullmantur Cruises.
Pabien – congratulations
Pullmantur Cruises and Aruba is ready to welcome all the cruise guests to have
the best time.
Only, the best!
