Fun watersports include for example sailing, kite surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, Atlantis submarine, windsurfing, para sailing, water skiing, glass bottom boat, party cruise boat, deepsea fishing, seaworld explorer, banana boat riding, and wave running, just to mention a few. Have fun!
Scuba Diving or snorkeling in Aruba
For scuba diving: PADI or NAUI certification is required. If you do not have a certification, a resort class to individuals 12 years and older is available and the instructor will decide if you are ready to scuba a site. Night diving is also a magnificent experience in Aruba.
Sites that are shallow are suitable for snorkeling, too.
Never touch a coral. Some species can cause skin irritation. Once you touch a coral, you kill it! It takes 20 years for an inch of coral to grow, please take care of it. Never go diving alone; always go with a dive buddy.
Aruba maintains a warm underwater environment of 70º-80ºF and a visibility between 60 and 100 feet.
California wreck (30-45 feet). This wreck is almost 100 years old.
Arashi airplanes (20-50 feet). This site has fascinating reefs for beginners.
Antilla wreck (60 feet). This is a German freighter, which dates back to the Second World War. It is the largest shipwreck in the Caribbean (400 feet long).
Malmok reef (70 feet). This reef is known for lobsters, sting-rays and barrel sponges.
Pedernalis wreck (35 feet). This is an impressive wreck dive, offering pieces of wreckage and coral formations. This ship was torpedoed during the WWII and was cut by the US military, and the center piece, which was damaged, was left behind.
Harbour reef and Pilot boat (40-100 feet). A wonderful deep dive.
Sonesta airplanes (15-60 feet). Two sunken airplanes and schooling barracudas wait for an adventuresome dive.
Barcadera reef (20-80 feet). A sandy bottom with an abundance of huge sea fans of different species and tropical fish awaits you.
Jane Sea Freighter (30-90 feet). This ship is approximately 200feet long and is home of corals and unique tropical fish.
Plonco reef (20-100 feet). Plenty of Parrotfish, Damselfish, Barracudas, large green morays made this reef home.
De Palm Slope (15-20 feet). This site is premium, for tropical fish and coral formations and offers a wonderful snorkeling as well as a diving opportunity.
Mangel Halto Reef (15-110 feet). This site offers variety and fun. Distinctive coral formations and deepwater gorgonians to sea anemones and tube sponges, and from unique octopus, seahorses to schools of yellow tails, can be all appreciated.
Baby Beach Reef (20-60 feet). This site is excellent for shore diving. There ate large elkhorn corals and sheet corals, crabs and lobster and tropical fish.
Santana di cacho Reef (20-50 feet). This is a rough water dive for the adventurer and experienced divers. Plenty of staghorn and elkorn corals are based here.
Cabez Reef (50 feet). Experienced divers who take on strong currents and high seas will view wide selection of marine life.
Shark caves (40-70 feet). This is a unique dive for only the experienced diver; nurse sharks hang around this cave. Accessibility depends on the sea and current conditions.
Andicuri (20-110 feet). This is a challenging dive where it is filled with black corals, sea fans, and soft corals and is located at the windward coast.

For beginners and the experienced alike, Aruba is popular for this sport. One can rent a yacht for half a day or full day, which include the captain, refreshment, equipment and bait. The fish species caught vary from sailfish, white and blue marlin, wahoo, shark, barracuda, bonito, black and yellow tuna fish, to king fish, and amberjack.
